Acme's Dothan location is located in the southeast corner of Alabama and serves all of the southern half of West Alabama as well as the counties of Bay, Gulf, Holmes, Washington, and part of Walton on the Florida Gulf Coast. Our 3800 square-foot showroom displays brick, ceramic tile, wood flooring, fireplaces, and other products for consumers and contractors building any size of house. It has a paver garden in front displaying both clay and concrete pavers with the center focus being an outdoor fireplace. The building itself is clad in brick and has incorporated into the design brick shapes of several different types.

As wildfires race across the western United States, from California to the Midwest to Texas, and hurricanes wreak havoc in areas near the Gulf of Mexico, now is a good time to take a moment and watch this brief video below. In 1988, two physics professors began discussing the scientific components that might lead to better energy efficiency in building construction. Bo Adamson from Lund University in Sweden and Wolfgang Feist from the Institut für Wohnen und Umwelt in Germany had read the research, dating back to the 1970s, that suggested it was possible to construct a low-energy building that was designed to exploit passive solar technologies and establish a comfortable indoor temperature with a low-energy requirement for heating or cooling.
A funny thing happened on the way to the pandemic; people stayed home. Of course, the practical reason for this trend was to stay away from crowds, some of which were composed of people who were ill and didn’t even know it. However, many clouds of sad stories have silver linings!
